how to lower water hardness?

I need some help. How can i lower the hardness of my water ? I have a freshwater tank for tropical fish? What is the easiest way?
Please i need help.

Water is your hardness right now? Why do you want to lower it? What kind of fish?

Lowering hardness isn't easy, so if you don't have to then don't.
