Yes, it worked out pretty well..The egg crates, you can actually cut it to size for it to fit the aquarium with wire cutters..I built a divider for a 110 gallon, 60 x 18 x 24...I have gravel so that made the egg crates stay in place plus I managed to cut it so that there was a tight fit..Thing I did not like about the egg crates was that the slotes were kind of big and small fish can swim through..I solved that problem by placing 2 egg crates together unevenly so that the slots there kind of blocked..Then I used the cable ties to hold to egg crates together..Worked out well
