How to make your very own wet/dry, sump and DIY pvc overflow!

PM me if you need help or anything. I love to help.:)

Your welcome everyone who looked. I'm going to remake this sump yet again, because there is a design flaw. You cannot get to the media without taking apart the sump. So I'm going to make the sump again, but this time maybe with a filter sock. But for sure I will use clear silicone, not white. ;)

I was thinking of this design for a sump. Feel free to tell if it's totally wrong or if it would work. Thanks

Not sure what baffles are, but I'm guessing they are kind of like dividers?

If so, it will work. I didn't get around to making the sump today, I didn't get to go to home depot... :(

Maybe tomorrow, I hope.

:) Yes those are aka dividers. Plan to get a 20g then place it in a small stand/enclosure so it won't be an eyesore. There's no room under my main tank to place it. Hope you make it to Home Depot soon.

Mommy's sick! :(

I hope I can go tomorrow because I will need a full day to complete this. I want to get a filter sock too.

-Good start but there are a few problems, the first one I saw was the before mentioned aspect of having to take apart the whole thing to change mechanical media.
-The second and an even more important aspect of the filtration process is that you're bio media should come after your mechanical filtration. You don't want to have your bio scrubbers accumulating all those nasty particles.
-First thing I would do is make the first chamber the mechanical area and have the eggcrate just as shown. Also, you're going to want almost all of your bio area filled with water.

Your right, that's why I'm remaking it!
