How to match temps when doing large water changes?

I've actually had ...uhm.. discussions with some arguing 'do not use water from hotwater tank'
some of the argument may be valid as many folks do not flush their hot water tanks.. so there is often 'build up'

electric hot water tanks have heating elements that come in contact with the water(some)

I have a gas hot water tank so this is not an issue for me add to that I do annual flushing of the tank to remove residue that does collect in the bottom of the tank..
 
If they bathed/showered more often, there wouldn't be any build up to worry about....:woot:
