how to move 12 gal. tank

I have a 12 gal. acrylic tank and wood stand that is sitting on the carpet that is going to be replaced this week. My thought is to move it into the guest bathroom which is only 12 feet away. I have ten fish in the tank: three rasboras, five neon tetras, one clown loach and one pleco. I have a two gallon tank and a small bowl at my disposal. They will only need to be moved for a day. What do you suggest I do?

I would feel safe moving that small of an aquarium with 2/3ish normal water. Acrylic is bonded STRONG and it isnt brittle like glass so the chances of it breaking are slim....just get a friend to help.
 
With it being only a 12 gallon I don't see how it would be very difficult. I use a 10 gallon tank to prepare water for my 29 gallon and carry it around with 7 gallons in it.

I would suggest you siphon out most of the water into a bucket that is only used for the aquarium(that way it doesn't have any harmful residue in it) and simply carry the aquarium. Unless it's really old I don't believe you would have a problem in my opinion.

yeah we have different system for gallons, it's kinda stupid and weird, but whatever. We don't even really use imperial in Canada it's mostly Metric( which makes more sense mathimatically, but is hard to get used to, instead of MPG we have liter/100km, what the heck is that?!?!?!) But from all the information I've read it's arounf 10 lbs, give or take, it still gives a person an idea of how much water weighs
