Just got a new 14 gallon Oceanic Bio Cube. Last time I had a tank it had a good old fashioned glass wool filter! Schematic shows a picture of the bio balls in what looks like an assembled grid. Do these just get thrown into the compartment helter skelter, or are they supposed to be joined together and put in rows?

Thank you! Now, if someone would be kind enough to give me some advice on fish. I know I shouldn't place more than 4 or 5 of them in the tank. Looking for something fairly hardy ( please, no guppies or mollies, or tetras - was down that path years ago!) but also interesting. Will be placing a couple of rocks, some plants - and that's it. Bought a bubble wand, a heater ( if I need it?), and some natural gravel. Right now the tank is sitting empty, waiting!
I have goldfish in my outdoor pond (I think I saved them from becoming feeder food), and I would consider goldfish, except someone told me their oxygen needs are greater than other fish. Thanks, in advance.

Everytime i sell one of these tanks, i try to convince the buyer into making it a saltwater tank.
Why have a wetdry and do freshwater? You know?

Wetdry's are more suited for freshwater than reef/marine tanks (with maybe the exception of well-stocked FO). Most buyers can hardly look after fresh let alone salt so I don't know as though that's a very good idea.
