How to rid smell from tank???

Just a quick simple question - what is the best way to get rid of the fishy?? smell from a tank? I am cleaning one of my tanks to sell it and noticed a slight fishy odor from it. I dont want to bleach it do I? Any input much appreciated.

It's your average glass aquarium tank.

you can use a light detergent along with hot water, just make sure its rinsed out properly

I've always used Hydrogen Peroxide.

Plain unscented bleach would work, just need to make sure and let it completely dry or use plenty of dechlor after.

I like to use Potassium Permanganate. Let it turn your tank purple and aerted for an hour or so. Nuetralize wit Hydrogen Peroxide and rinse. Don't have to worry about toxic residues. My water storage containers get that same smell from bacteria build up. PP wipes em' clean and smell disappears.
