Hubby wants bright blue fish!

Help, he is finally getting excited about this fish thang.....lol, but the only fish he really wanted was a blue hippo tang, and that is just too large for my 55 gallon, then he said how about these, Blue devil damsels, which I tried to explain to him would make our other fish stressed out. What else out there is that really bright dynamic blue, that will go with our 2 clown fish, and maybe (some blue green chromis, we don't have yet) and one pajama cardinal, and one royal gramma in a 55 gallon FOWLR tank? I been looking around the web, and online fish sales sites, but not a lot that bright color. I should add, I am considering snails and shrimp... so much to think about...

I only know of three blue fish that are able to be in your size tank... the noen blue goby... (awesome metalic neon blue guys... peacful and very cool fish although small but you can keep more then one in your tank)

Macneill's Assessor Basslet are cool fish they are easy going and medium size fish... they are about 30 dollars most places and are in a varieghty of shades of blue.. some pale some dark some in bettween....

and a blue dot sleeper goby.. these guys are a lighter blue with darker dots on there throat and undersides.. they eat sand process the bad stuff in it and poop fresh clean sand out... (sorry for being graffic) I think they are a great addition becuase of them performing a benificial act for your sandbed.

There are other blue fish but most require alot more tank.

You could get a blue tang small, like 2 inches, and have him for a couple of YEARS, and when he gets to big, trade him in and buy another one. I know people that do this usccesfully and I am planning on doing the same thing.

Agreed, the hippo tang will be fine for a year or two.
Just make sure you quarantine for 3-4 weeks first and when you add it to the display keep a close eye on all fish for marine ich; hepatus are NOTORIOUS for introducing parasites/pathogens. Once settled they usually do very well, feed with Nori/Sprung's Sea Veggies, other algae products soaked in Selcon/Zoe supplements to avoid HLLE long term.
The hippo is a great fish if you love blue.

I just got a Pygmy Angelfish which has a beautiful dark blue color.

There are a couple of other similarly colored dwarf angelfish.
