Huge German Blue Rams
I was at the store today looking for a female blue ram because I have been having trouble with my blue ram pair recently and they needed to be separated. I came across the blue ram tank and was thrilled to see brightly colored (although slightly beat up looking) blue rams but I was shocked at their size. They were huge! 2 1/2 inches maybe. I know blue rams can reach that size full grown but I thought most fish were pretty young when they were shipped. Are these fully grown or am I going to have monster rams in a couple months!?!
On a side note....I bought 2 rams which I thought were a male and female however I no longer think this is true. I have them in a tank next to a 20 gallon which houses some tetras and a female blue ram who didn't get along with her previous partner. Well as soon as she saw the new rams in the other tank she turned bright red and is hovering in the corner visible that is from the other tank! Unfortunately, the ram she seems interested in is the one I thought was a female! Oh well! At least it looks like I will have one successful pairing coming up as soon as the new guys are out of quarantine!
