Mass.
I saw these guys on line, and did some research on them. I was wondering if anyone had any personnel experience with them ? Thanx gang.

They are really neat. I had one for about an hour. It was way smaller than the site I ordered from claimed and it became food. The only place i've ever seen them for sale was on azgardens.com, which is where I got mine. I would recommend never ordering anything from there. If you do a search here for that company you'll find all kinds of complaints.

If I could find someplace else that carries them, I would probably have bought more by now.

They dart around like a hummingbird (obviously), and I would love to see a school of them darting about.

never heard of them. is that their common name?

I've heard them called Hummingbird Tetras, Peru Darter Tetras, and Walking Tetras. The scientific name is, I think, Characidium fasciatum.

In regards to the name "Walking Tetra," this Tetra will "walk" around on the bottom using it's fins.

If anyone knows of a reliable source for these I would be greatly appreciative.

You can purchase the Hummingbird Tetras from Oddball Pets (http://www.oddballpets.com/). I've ordered from them in the past and everything went well.

They sometimes come in as a contaminant in shipments of Cardinal Tetras. That's a good way to get them cheap.

Do these fish school really well? I've got pygmy cories and they don't school. They just go wherever.
