hunger games comming out tomorrow!! who's going???

sorry about that mykidsmylife, I spoke to hastily there. You guys aren't idiots, just adults. Sometimes it's hard for a teenager to tell the difference :) No hard feelings?

No hard feelings and thank you for the apology!! :D

I do love some the "teenage" books. I read them a LOT!!! My all time favorite is "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke. It is a really good story line and the characters have a lot of "meat" to them. It's one of the few books that has been translated to English that actually was done well. There are two others in the series as well. It makes my top 5! ;)

I have read both series of books...Twilight as well as the hunger games....and comparing them is just ridiculous. Twilight was meaningless fluff. The hunger games has a lot to say....

ooh! I loved the Inkheart Books! Inkheart, Inkspell, and Inkdeath (in that order). Only thing I don't like about them (and this can be said for many books) is how the first one was obviously meant to be a stand alone, as the second one had new characters added and the first one killed off most of the villains you come to know and hate. Even with that, I liked the book series as a whole quite a bit. :)

Best teenage book in modern literature is hands down Ender's Game and the following series, Speaker of the Dead, etc. Absolutely blew my mind and I'm thrilled for the movie, the book dealt with pretty much two concepts...1: to be a great military leader/strategist one must be maximally empathetic. 2: Being maximally empathetic allows such a degree of understanding of the "Other" and their motivators that it is impossible to hate them or desire their destruction.

Ender is maximally empathetic... brilliant books.

50 minutes until i see the movie. ive already heard they left a bunch of stuff out, but i always seperate books and movies. like the percy jackson movie was nothing like the book.

Agree 100% about the second two in that series.

Fozzy- I haven't read the Ender's Game but I will add them to my reading list!

If anyone else has any books they could suggest I would love to know what they are. I love finding new books or series. Adult or Teen...doesn't matter. :D

Let us know what you think of it and have fun!!! My daughter is driving me batty with the "when are we going...when are we going". lol

it was pretty good, but they left out a bunch of stuff from the book, but i guess if they didnt it could go on for like 5 hours. i always think of the book and movie apart so yea it was pretty good.

Ender's Game (and series that follows) = Some of the best books I've read in syfy as of yet.

Ever hear of the Saga of Seven Suns? It's a pretty good series :) I also like the Unincorperated Man, and following series. Some very good concepts and ideas in that book and series.

They need an un-edited version when it comes out in DVD/Blueray. All the stuff they had to drop from the theater movie would be added back in :D

i saw hunger games yesterday... it was super good! i havent read the books. I thought the movie ended weird, hope they come out with a second one. It got me interested that is for sure
