 :mad2:  my new 8 inch neddle nose gar fits in perfectly!! the other fish in the tank are too intiminated by the natural preditar look to streass out the newbie. he is harmless to them, even the small JD. I got some feeder goldfish and it was quit a show!. the gar would stay motionless at the surface and wait for a curios goldfish. then with great speep he would swim and bit it wth his 2 inch mouth filled with teeth, what for it to stop wiggling and die, release his grip, swim at the dead fish and swallow it whole! the most amazing part was that because he is semi-transparent I got to see the gold spot that was a fish work its way through him. I think hunter is a fittingname! :mad2:
:D

I would imagine that before long the other tank inhabitants will start to look like feeders to the gar. Do you have plans to move those fish to different tanks as they grow?

yeah, 125 this summer. I will move the mudskipper into the 55, and set up the 40 as a grow out tank (for fish like the JD) or a convict breeder for the pinks
