i was reading about the EBJD earlier and about their fragileness probably due to the recessesive gene.. i was wondering if being albino causes the fish to be less tougher/more fragile.. or is it just mostly EBJD and or other rare cases.. i have seen alot of albino oscars for example sold in the markets.. but never hear of them really dying off.. and also Blood parrots.. anyone any answers for this ?

Ebjds are not "altered by human interferance"; they are the result of a recessive gene. Anyone looking at the percentages produced as offspring can see this. Please understand these are not hybred fish in most cases.almsk8s4life said:

Being albino can make some fish more fragile than the others that are not albino. For instance, albino cories are very fragile in comparison to cories with regular coloration.
Furthermore, outside of fish, albino humans are more fragile than non-albino humans, etc. So I conclude that, yes, for the most part being albino makes fish more fragile than those that are not albino.
Maybe my conclusion is wrong...anyone out there have another opinion?
