I have been setting up a new tank that i have been building to my own spec. I chose a Hydor canister filter and it came with an outlet diffuser with some strange features. I dont quite know what they are for, although i am guessing that they might be to enable an air line to be fitted so as to airate the filtered return water. I include a picture, as this will probably explain what i am asking better...
ps. before anyone mentions reading the instructions, i have...dozens of times! and to top things off, the pic of the diffuser on the box shows a type with none of the strange features.
