I've always heard that Hydor don't really have good products. A lot of people on MFK didn't like them. My friend actually gave me a bubbler that they made and it didn't work for very long before it broke down.
if your inline heater turns off, and your "outside thermometer" says its at such and such lower temperature, you might want to try another thermometer, or measuring device as it may be defective.
i have 2 hydro 300s connected to my 125, i think they're awesome. with a planted tank, you really can't use a sump and heat that. so you dont have much of a choice, stick an intank heater, and be irritated by seeing it, or use an inline heater.
