I'm thinking about getting a nano for the back left side corner of my tank as well. Have it towards the bottom pointing up

Let me know if you decide to do it. I am curious how well it works. I guess I could easily test it with my current nano but I hate robbing peter to pay paul!

Which are better, the 3's or the 4's? Any noise/size issues, etc?

I have (2) #3s in my 55g, I'd go with the #4s in a 75. No noise issues and my dealings with the manufacturer couldn't be better.
HAH! IF I do that and it goes well then I will end up paying way to much at my LFG for 2 extra nanos! If I do it before you I will let you know! I got my 2nd overflow in earlier so I will be setting that up tonight. Doubling my return should do me some justice. I might even have enough flow in the sump/refug to still the nano!
I have 2 4's. 1 on each end. The only problem I have is aligning them just pefect and not messing up the sand bed. There is no noise/size issues with the 4's at all (granted they are rather large). I have almost convinced myself I should have gone with 2 3's so that it would be easier to control. Either way you are going to be happy.
I'm thinking of getting two #2s and using the #1 on the bottom pointing up. Do you think this would be too much flow for a 28g?
Just a FYI :
I got a nano, and while they put out less then the #1 they are great. But they don't have the aiming ability as the #1's, since they use a much cheaper type of joint on the nanos..
But it is great for sticking in small places.. And it's a little more directional then the others in the line.. I'd a good purchase if you can find one for a good price..
