Make sure the H2O2 is fresh, if it's an old bottle, it's likely spent........It can fry algae easy, a bit too easy perhaps. Burns plants, folks get a little too crazy with it and kill their shrimp and fish etc also.
Dips are rather a hassle.
When doing a water change, the plants can be brushed with Excel or H2O2 and it will kill the algae.
So what? You killed an algae that's going to come back soon anyhow.
Stick with what grows plants better, Excel will do both.
Focus on growing plants, not killing algae.
Then you address the root of the issue.
Not some ban aid temp fix.
