Hydroids...Good or bad?

Seen 6 or so Hydroids ( like those in the hitch hiker sticky in General Marine section ) but can't seem to find much helpful info about them.

Are they ok to leave in the tank or should i try to remove any that i can see?
Guessing if i've spotted 6 on the front glass then there must be plenty more in the tank.

Can anyone point me to where i can get more info as to what they are?

They are a pest anemone wich will overun your tank if left unchecked, and can sting your corals and fish. Inject with lemon juice or boiling water, or use a commercial aiptasia killer.

hydroids arnt anemones but are in the same phylum but are the class hydrazoa insted of the class anthazoa...none the less they are bad because they will sting your fish and inverts. sometimes they are to small to inject though how big are they? and are you sure they arnt aptasia?

Excuse the blurry pic but it was hard trying to get it in focus.

Size tip to tip is about 1mm at the most. Guessing they are same as what was posted in the sticky in General Marine.

really hard to tell for sure but it generally looks like one id get rid of them just to be safe u dont want a hydroid colony started.
