currently i have a FW tank, looking into converting into BW, i understand the 0.002 per week, however my level are so low that my hydrometer doesn't read any salt, i put 1Tbs for 10g as instructed, but still no reading.

so i bough a pond salt kit. it reads that i have 0.12% and to add 1CUP PER 100GAL.!!! i have a 20G long, i have a bucke which i filled with 1g water, and added 2tbs, that will be for about 20g...BUT i scared to put it in as it might be to much to fast.

PLEASE HELP!!!! :(

Not sure what pond salt is for, but you need marine salt for BW. It takes around a cup of salt/5g to raise the SG .005, so you'll need roughly around 1 3/4 cups to raise it to 1.002.

Thanks

the salt water kit was just a tester not salt.

now, will this hurt my fish that i have in there now?

2 platies
1 guppy
1 ballon molly
1 red tail shark
1 silver tip shark

The only true BW fish you have are the molly & silver tip shark. Livebearers do appreciate a little salt (aquarium salt), but the red tail shark will not. To measure BW salinity levels, you must use a hydrometer.
