Being a newb to this hobby, ive only just noticed this. Namely, a stark difference in my attitude when im standing at my lfs' counter, and then when i have the tank setup.

Every time i spend a large amount of money i always say to myself "this is the last time, its just a hobby" But then i get the tank setup and "oh, i should get this" or "what if i got a small tank for these" When i started i was thinking a 10gal with something small, maybe a few neons and some plants. two months later i have 4 tanks (20gal, 5gal, and two small 2gals for guppies and snails*food for AFB and dwarf puffers, respectively*) in my dorm room.

anyone else have a burn mark in their wallet where their money used to be?

Mmmm... yes.... very large hole in my pocket.

Wow!!!!!!! you guys can afford pants AND a wallet after you buy fish. I must be getting ripped off r summthin?

Fortunately (for my bankroll) I'm conscious of the lack of space. Although it seems like chunk's gotten around that. But I think that the wife would have my hide if I tried to run more than two tanks full time in our 1 bedroom apartment.

Although I did just pick up an 18g tank from a friend of mine. I couldn't pass it up, tank, canopy, heater and 2 filters for $40 CAD.

My tanks are all still pretty small. And luckily I have bikes and computers to also spend my money on. But if I could I would setup a new tank every week. It sure is fun.

My computers eat my money too. I do understand the obsession though.

We have four computers for two people... insane. LOL

We are balanced though with just two tanks for the two of us. ;)

I don't see the imbalance regarding the computers. one computer per person, and one per tank. :)
