Hello everyone. I've had a crayfish, Sid, for many months. Yesterday I noticed what appear to be hundreds of eggs under his, now her, tail. She has built a nest and waves them about and seems to take care of them. My question is this: She has no mate. Can crayfish store sperm or is this just a hysterical pregnancy?

Not gaurantees, but many crustaceans, amphibians, and fish can indeed store sperm. If the eggs aren't turning white, most likely they are viable.

Didn't know about the color issue. All the eggs are whitish so I guess I won't expect any new additions. Thanks for the info!
