That's right!

I bought 4 Crystal Red Shrimp about a month ago, and noticed one of them came with eggs so I bought her her own small little tank furnished with two moss balls, a frogbit, and some anacharis. Now, after a month, and the death of the other three in the main tank... I HAVE BABIES!!!

I know what you're going to ask for, but, sorry, I cannot take pictures yet because they might be sensative to flash. LOL, actually, they are still very, very small. They are as thin as a strand of hair, and about 1/16th of an inch long.... I see 5, and I hope more survive past the crucial first week.

YAY!

Only one survivor from that batch... getting some more new ones on Thursday from the LFS to revitalize my population.

Sponge w/ pantyhose over it has worked for me, even on the powered Eclipse 3's I use for shrimp nurseries.

The fry need food! I powderize Hikari pellets by crushing them between a spoon and ceramic dish. Several feedings a day are required.

Java moss is a great thing for these guys to hang onto.

v/r, N-A

For the time being they are in a small plastic tank with no filter whatsoever... maybe the mom ate them?

In the 5.5 I have a Stingray filter (http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/14695/product.web)... I can position it so the intake is higher... or should I use a sponge filter instead... I'm trying to save money as I've already spent a lot on the CRS setup.

Oh, and for food, they been getting a small piece of flake... I guess that's not enough.

Since I'm so excited about my new tank, and I've told MG all about it... maybe I shouls share here:

5.5 gallons
10lbs piece of petrified wood
Black gravel
Black river rocks
Java Moss wall (still needs to grow)
and........
20+ MARIMO MOSS BALLS!!!
and, I'll prolly stick in my Amazon Frogbit from work because those don't seem to be growing that well there.
