4 tanks and the java moss is turning brown. Java ferns and swords doing well. What am I doing wrong. I use leaf zone once a week.

Thanks

does leaf zone have iron?

iron is a must for just about any planted tank, especially non rooted or column feeders.

You're going to have to supply much more information about your tank, water, lighting than that in order to get an opinion on what the problem might be, Sue.

I am a total, sad plant newbie. I thought Java Moss didn't die. Is this the info I need to provide.

1gal snail home, FW, Bright natural light, Moss is 20% brown.

1 gal betta bowl, FW, FW Bright natural light, Moss is 20% brown.

55 gal FW 2 15 watt bulbs on 17+ hours a day, meduim natural light. Moss is 95% brown

6 gal FW 15 watt bulbs on 17+ hours a day, meduim natural light. Moss is 80% brown

In the small 1 gallon tanks, there might not be enough iron/nutrients for the plants.

You definately need more light in your 55 gallon FW tank. And what inhabitants do you have in your 6 gallon tank?

I am taking the java moss out of the 1 gals and putting it in a 5 gal container with Leaf Zone overnight once a week. It looks better then it did without the Leaf Zone.

6 gal one female betta, 1 otto Java fern doing well.

I guess I better go find out about lighting the 55 gal

Thanks
