I really question the "two hippo tangs" in a 90 gallon

I may have gotten my names mixed up. To clarify:

Blue Tang
(Paracanthurus hepatus)

blue tang, hippo tang, regal tang all the same fish. first i have been told they either need to be single fish or in schools of 3 to 4 or more. orion girl and several others have told me that when you put 2 tangs together, say i hippo and a yellow, they need to be in no less than a 125. im pretty sure im right about this, but if someone doesnt think so let me know. im still in the learning stages myself.

Actually you are right...sorta...almost all tangs, except for the exception of the blue tang, fight amongst themselves. Blue tangs (usually juveniles) have no problem with each other and can coexist in the same tank. That's according to M. Paletta and R. Fenner.

Yes two of them can co-exist. The problem is you need abot a 100 gallon tank for 1. So the 90 is cutting it close for 1. For more than one I (personal opinion ) would want at least a 135 or bigger tank.
