I bought A guppy sickness

I bought a guppy from lfs and brought it home. the next day she had a white wring around her eye.I put a teaspoon of salt in a quart of water and put her in it for half an hour like all the fish books I read said to.found dead this morning. by th way I did not know the sickness on short notess.

That's rough. Hope your other fish/tank is not affected...watch it close. Did you slowly acclimate the guppy to the treated water or just plop it in?

I acclimatized my gupp for 60 minutes

My tank has been set up for 5 months and I returned my guppie but couldn't get another one because thier guppy tank has a fungus

Just keep a real close eye on your tank in case your other fish develop the same illness.

Sounds like me! I bought 3 and they were all sick and went belly up with in 2 days. 1 held on and gave all my baby platty ick. there all doing wonderful and will be traveling itno a new home in 2 weeks. ( the 29 gallon tank

Did you treat it with table salt? Did you use the water from your tank?
