I bought an 80 gallon today :D

I didn't get it at any specialty shop or anything of that sort. the LFS here is pretty well setup and the people are nice ...

I got a nice stand with cabinets, an eighty gallon fishtank, a 26 kilo bag of geosystems substrate (bought in bulk to save money <3), a jebo hood that has 4x 55 watt compact and it came with like fluval 404 and a bunch of other goodies ...

Then I got a nice stand for my 20 gallon so I can move it into the living room and uhhh ... uhhhh ...

I think that's it.

The tank itself arrives on tuesday but i brought the stand home so I can set it up and have it ready for it's arrival.

the tank was $699 with stand and everything but a heater (net, food, water conditioner, filter, fake plants (eww), blah, blah blah)


Think I did alright?

I just set my 80g up and spent a little more than that and I thought I got a good deal too.

I think you did a good job.
It is hard to find a set up that is over 50 gallons for under 500 dollars CDN. I got my 65 gallon for 575$ including the cabinet, the aquafilter, lights, heater and substrate.... and your tank is an 80 gallon so you got a decent deal. I shopped for a LONG time for that darn 65 gallon.

I got an 80 gal Hex from cash converters for like$80 CAD. if came with nothin, cept a slight leak. Nothing a lil sealent wont. NOw i just have to find a spot to put it that it even. My floors r all warped, so it might be hard :huh:

I think u got a good deal, condsidering all the good stuff u got with it. Im sure your fish r goin to like all that room.

I'm keeping my 20 gallon seperate from the 80 ...

I was considering a rainbow tank and roan pretty much nudged me that way. >.>
I'm not sure which kind im going to get though but the only ones they have here are http://bowheads.org/images/lacustris.gif so i might have to settle for a school of those.
