BIG UPDATE HERE:
The new guy is doing well. This is kind of a photo journal of how he's been adjusting to his new home.
Firstly, this was Lars, the former tank king, popping out of his favorite spot.
Here is his resting place in my friend's backyard. He was a cool fish, so I figured, why not?
Here's the new guy, hiding in the corner on his first day in the 10 gallon (notice he's flat-out PALE):
This is my tank weeks ago, mid-water change, with fake plants 'n' such.
Next day, I switched out the fake plants for an all-natural look:
Here's my tank a couple of weeks later:
He certainly seems happy and active. He's now more of a pink/flesh toned color. I'd describe him as albino if it wasn't for his black eyes, but he's almost see-through. Is there a name for this coloration?
He's really aggressive at feeding time. He's quite the jumper, and he'll jump up and bite my finger whenever he can. He got me three times during the last water change! I finally have a name for him:
Paul Stanley! For those unfamiliar, Paul Stanley is the frontman of KISS, one of my favorite bands of all time.
I don't know about you guys, but I definitely see a resemblance!
