Well in all honesty I wasn't actually attempting to breed them. So today I look in my aquarium and I see at least 5 baby ottos. I did not see the actual spawning. Anyways I thought I would give out the specifics on what I had done previously.
I originally had 3 ottos which I had purchased about 1 year ago. They were in a 30 gallon planted aquarium which had gotten out of hand(mostly because of my own fault). So I redid the aquarium. I put new bulbs in my 130 watt light pulled out the Black Skirt tetras and put in a new substrate for planted aquariums. I also started up 2 DIY CO2 containers. I did an 80% water change on the aquarium and added two new plants. At this point there were only 3 ottos in the aquarium.
I had been giving heavy feedings of algae wafers along with the algae in the tank and some dying leaves of plants.
Anyways I will test the tank soon and get some parameters up. I'll also try to get some pictures up.
