I built a couple boxes.

And this is as far as I got today.

One of my tanks is on a non-aquarium black stand. I've gotta make a black one to hide the filter.
 
I have it set up with 4 x 96 watt 6700 k and 2 x 96 watt 10,000k. In the pic it is only running the 4 x 6700k , one of the 10k bulbs was broken in shipment . I wasn't sure just how much lighting I would want so I loaded it up . It is pretty bright with the just the 4 but I like the color of the added 10,000k .
I am also going to get some black foam or rubber filler to go in between the hood and the tank to get rid of the light seeping through.
