i cant take the wait any longer

ok, after about 3 hours my params are the same but my ammonia is .25 creeping .50 ppm. should i just do a 25% water change?

ok so if i pour the stress coat in (treatment for the whole tank) before refilling my lfs bacteria sack will be ok, right?

well this is just great. after i finish vacuuming my rocks i still have about 25% more water to remove, so i leave the python hanging over the edge. one of my dannios decides to go inside. when i saw him in the cylinder i (wrongfully) acted quick and pulled the vac from the water sucking his poor self all the way down 50 ft of tubing and out into my front patio. i found him lying in a pool of water and it's 20* F where i am currently. i picked him up as fast as i could (they are tricky little ba****ds outside the water too) and put him back in the tank where he seems fine for now. this shall be the true test of heartiness in a zebra.

anyway mind racing from that episode, i started to refill my tank like always w/o stress coat first. i'd say a good 10 seconds full blast had entered the tank before i realized and shut it down to hurridly pour in the 46 mL of stress coat. i swear if i killed off the pet store gravel bacteria i'm going to rip my beard off.

off to a new year's party, and i plan on getting hammered drunk. hope everyone has a safe one. i'll do a water test when i wake up and report here first thing.

I would not add cories either they are too sensitive to ammonia and nitrite spikes. I cycled my 36g corner bow with approx 8-10 danios and they did the job for me. If you add anymore fish go with the danios they are super hardy fish and handle the cycle well. It took me like 6-8 weeks to fully cycle my tank. The wc's were a pain but I did them daily and it paid off for me. Good luck to you hope you get the results you want.

Dude.... hope things work out for the best and that you're deservedly hung over today (I am). You make me feel guilty for cracking up while feeling bad for ya. (Rip my beard out was some funny S***!) Hang in there!

Wow... glad you found the little guy!!! For what it's worth, as a lfs employee I have picked up many fish off the floor, and most of the time it works out. ;)
