i.d...fuzzy worm thing

just noticed a cream colored fuzzy/slimy looking thing, about the size and shape of a piece of puffed rice cereal. but in the early a.m., when it's all dark, and i turn on the tank light, this thing is about 1-1/2" long, all stretched out, and thin, like fuzzy- slimy thread. it quickly retreats when the lights hit it. it's been hanging onto a piece of cheado for a couple days. good or bad?

i think i have these also. i dont think they harm anything.

A picture would help. http://melevsreef.com/id/ This a good site for id animals in sw tanks. Also I believe that there is a member on this site that has a id website too. But it sounds like a polychaete worm. Most of which are dietrivores that end up in the hobby as hitch hikers.

tried the paper clip thing, for whatever reason, i can't upload the pics to this! went to the links, no luck...closest think to it was a sponge, but i dont think sponges stretch out and look like a fuzzy worm, do they?

Really would need a good quality photo. "fuzzy" just describes far too many critters.
