i love my new phone :lipssealedsmilie: no phones at work <.<... sshhhh
dont worry it wasnt out i kept it in a specemin cup

1/4" to 1/2" & i think it came in w/ the plant shipment ...i think we get most of our stuff out of calli. it is fully aquatic but dosent swim upward doent eat bloodworms or tropical flakes or alge ...at least today it didnt ...i think it may eat live bugs ...at least it looks like it would ....but it has no big mandibles or anything so there is a good chance its veg.

the closest thing i have found is a dragonfly nanid ...but they're not that close ...i was hoping it would be something i could set up in a tank ...and wouldnt fly away:thud:

It's definitely a dragonfly nymph. There's a fair bit of variation between the various families, which explains why internet images of naiads might not closely resemble yours.

When not in use, the extensible jaw is slung underneath the head.

Well, that looks bitey....

Same thing I just dealt with, MadHatter. It's a dragonfly nymph that came in with some plants from a pond place. Mine was the same kind yours is, whichever one that is.

First image is an actual pic using my crappy camera phone... second photo is an exact match I found on the web.)
