I.D. This plant...

I picked this up from my LFS today. They said it's some kind of fern. What kind? I tried to find it from pics on the net to no avail. ALSO, my substrate is sand, is that OK? Will it root? and I just have the standard florescent bulb that can with my "ALL GLASS" 10g aquarium starter kit. Is that OK?

looks like hornwort, grows like a weed. Can be placed in substrate or floated.

it wont really root. does best floating.
