I didnt think I was a breeder....

I cannot believe that there people that cannot even accept the possibilities of cross breeding when the fact and example are given.

In 1985, Hawaii’s Sea Life Park, reported the successful crossbreeding of a male false killer whale (Pseudorca crassidens) and a female bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus).

Meanwhile the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (USA), cross breed a tiger and a lion, 2 produce 2 offsprings.

And then there is the parrot fish.

These are just a few examles.

I am floored at the movement of this thread....

Some thoughts tho... first... I am going to try to get pics... the issue is not having the technology.. it is that I live in Virginia and the fish are in Pennsylvania with my parents. I am going to try to get one of them to take some pics for us though.

Secondly.... I dont feel that there were any favors done by removing posts. It drastically shows that someone did not like what they posted especially since the intensity of the argument arose after each of those posts. Can a fish cross breed (guppy x platty mainly)? I think so... I have seen the results of this fish with my eyes... Do we have scientific proof that this can be done? Well, no... I dont have the technology to map dna and crap plus I wouldnt want to kill these fish. But on the other hand, where is the scientific evidence that this can NOT happen? That evidence can not be presented either.

In a post harlock made he shoved it down everyone's throat that they (we) could only not accept the fact that it can not be done and we refuse to believe otherwise for this reason. I think the opposite can be true just as easily. It is highly possible that those who do not believe that this cross breeding may be possible simply do not want to accept the fact that maybe it can. Maybe it is an issue of ego... I dont know.

The truth of the matter is that this may or may not be possible.... but the fish that I have seen and prayerfully will have pics of shortly have convinced me that, although very rare, this is a possibility.

Sorry this topic would have being ended long time ago if it hasn't being for his personal insults at me. I welcome anyone to any debate anytime on topics I have knowledge in.
Of you read my original posting to the person who started this thread it is very unlikely that his/her fish were the product of accidental cross breeding but the possibilities not not as Harlock put in one of his post, realms of another dimmensionin my world.

I guess you all missed MY post. I curently have 3 offspring of gup/platty cross. A grey female 'king cobra' gup crossed with mickey mouse male platty. Mother is passed on now, the baby gups have mickey mouse colorings. If they hold still long enough I'll take a pic.

Dude, you're off your rocker

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really, I don;t think I ever personally insulted you. If I did, I apologize. All you're doing now is simply proving more and more that there are other Corssbreeds. Go back and please read my original one or two posts where I simply asked for non-anecdotal evidence that there is a guppy X. platy. It's what I asked in every post. Rohn, this isn't personal. I truly love livebearing fish and if such a hybrid exists, I really want to know about the documentation. I don't see why that is so hard for you to accept. This was never a debate Rohn, it was simply a hobbyist enquiring for the evidence and being met with your... whatever it was. Barrage of unrelated crap sums it up best I think. Mules, parrot fish, Lion/tigers... all I asked for was guppy X. platy. Seriously, I think you may have some issues. Good luck in the future. The thread speaks for itself now. I said all there is needed to say and you, as always, keep posting unrelate material. I'm glad you want to debate anyone anytime. I just want a guppy X platy. And, for what it's worth, I bet I never see a real one and I bet you still think we had a debate amd somehow your pride is tied up in winning. Congrats. You win. I have self worth and won't degrade the thread anymore. Besides. Everyone I know that's read the thread has yet to figure out why mules matter when someone asks for scientific proof of platy X guppy. I'll sleep well tonight, and move on with life tomorrow knowing I took the high road. That's what deleting posts is about. That's what feeling sorry for hijacking a thread is about. It's also what maturity is about. Don't bother replying, it won't be read.

please don't PM or email me. If you have anything to say, post it on this forum for everyone to see. That is without deleting or editing your posts, so that everyone can follow a chronological argument. I have no hard feelings towards you or anyone else who disaggree with me, or what anyone calls me.

Let me first appologize to bblboy54 if I hijacked this thread. I hoped you learned something from this debate regardless what you believe.

There are no winners or looser. Our job on this or any other forum is to adivce and give information to others who ask.
