If you would delete the first post in one the thread, you could remove the entire thread on your own...
Actually, that would be preferable to "bumping" it to the top by replying to it...but just letting it be would also be preferable to you bumping it to the top. Go to "edit post" on your first post of the thread, and then check the box marked "delete?", click on the button which says "delete now", and, voila! We no longer have to see this post since you deleted it on your own! Then the mods could work on more important things than deleting a thread like this...everybody wins!!!
