I've been doing everythnig I can to get rid of my green water. 4 days of no lights and treatment for the green water. The thing that is really pissing me off is one of my 2 flowerhorns in the tank will hangout at the top of the water and when I turned the lights to see if the water had cleared up, the **** thing started swimming around all crazy beating itself all over the place. When it gets done beating itself it will slowly fall to the bottom of the tank and lay there on it's back panting. (Oh, by the way this has happened twice in the last week) Then I scoup the fish up and put it in my 10G hospital tank. After about 20 minutes or so that fish is fine and is swimming around and doesn't even seem like anything happened to him. Can someone please help me figrue out what is going on.....thanks

yeah, that happens. you know how when you're in a dark room and someone turns the light on and it hurts your eyes? well, fish don't have eyelids. of course he's freaking out.
turns lights on slowly - either use a nightlight in the room, or open the blinds to let sunlight in, or turn on a lamp in the room before turning on the tank lights. this gives the fish time to adjust.

Nitrites...a sufficeintly sized bacteria colony for the bio load you have. Until you have it, water changes to keep it less than .25

Nitrates...water changes.
