Thsi is of the Smasher variety.
Personally I wouldnt keep it in anything smaller than a 40 gal.
they can grow to about 5 Inches or so.

I really wouldnt keep this guy in a 15 gal glass tank as I am pretty sure it could break or crack the thin glass.

they are viscious killers too and should be kept alone. in case you didn't know..

ive been trying to get one a mantis for a while and i know this species only gets 3", i wanted a G. smithii but they are impossible to come by in canada, the people say he is still faily active for being a more reclusive species

i agree with the zigman, in a case like this where a "rare" 50$ animal is involved, im sure you would rather be safe than sorry...

OOO I don't have any experience but he is pretty. I'd love one of those one of these days when my rich uncle gets out of the poor house!

I almost screamed when that huge picture shot up in my face. THAT, is a scary lookin shrimp.

they might be scary, but mantis shrimps are just about the most amazing creatures in the world, even thought they're not technically shrimp...

omg she will fit perfectly in a horror movie... It feels like two insects were bonded together - upper part of mantis and bottom part of a beetle... Am I looking at this thing correctly?
