That's a shame, IMO. 12 weeks of fishey cycling...at an expense of 20 fish. Would you do it again, this way?

Well see it all started when my g/f first bought the tank She throu about 18 fish into a un cycled tank 10g tank so that put my parameters all outta whack to begin with. MOst of which where moved to my dads 55g so they were saved. except a few.

At that time i had no idea what cycling a tank even was. But i lived and learned.

So no. When i get my 55g at christmas, its going to be cycled right. Prolly with bio-spiria.

IM not a irresponsible fish keeper. I just walked into this hoppy with no prior knowledge. But we learn the best from our mistakes do we not?

No judgement from me, Import. Many just get thrown into it from circumstances beyond their control.

We do learn from our mistakes, I will gladly admit that.

I would like you to remember this episode and the horrors of it, and the lost fish.
And then when you see someone wanting to follow the same path, kindly remind them of your experiences. There will be more than one that will say you did not do the fishey cycle correctly.

The problem is, most get thrown into the fishey cycle on a whim and do not have the resources, ahead of time, to do one more correctly.
