I FINALLY found kuhlis!

Haha, that's what I was thinking when I was at the LFS and the girl pulled up the decorations, and there they were! They DO exist! ha

She said they do usually get them in on a regular basis, so to keep calling and checking.

kim_tma- there are some on Aquabid right now, $18 for 6, plus shipping. I wanted to buy them locally, but I was almost ready to give up and buy those ones, but they're there if you can't get them anywhere else. :)

I got my kuhlis from that guy on AquaBid, BlueRam06, and they are great. He also guarantees normal shipping, so my total cost was only 28$. If you can't get them locally, I highly recommend him.

I was still having trouble finding more kuhlis to go with the 2 I had. I reandomly stopped in a LFS while visiting my parents in CT yesterday, and they had some. :D So I have have a nice school of 6. I love watching them rest on the plants, and the their loachy dance in the filter current. :)

Nice find! When I have room to set up more tanks again, I want to set my 75 back up as an Asian tank with as many kuhlis as I can find. I used to have a 29 with a group of 4 or 5 species and my 75 used to have about 15 black kuhlis. They are great fish

I had no clue what they were when I went to my LFS. I was getting some feeder fish for my ducks and saw an empty tank. No gravel or anything, just a funky filter. I looked for a second and saw movement. Then I looked at the tag and it said Kuhli loach, they were only $1.99 each and about pinky length. I thought there was only 1 but I was wrong. My brother told me there were about 7, I got distracted by a cichlid so didnt see them. I got home and thats when he told me they had more. I called them back once I read up on them and they get them all the time.

Long time lurker here. I got my Kuhli's about a year ago, but they haven't grown much since I got them and never I see them eat. They'd be about 1 1/2" to 2" long and they are a very dark brown. Will get some photos when my hood is fixed.

Also, what sort of environment do they like?

Well I went back and got 2 more last night. They said they will be getting another shipment in a few weeks. It is awesome, now that I have 3 they swim around all the time and they have gotten my other fish to come out of hiding. I think it would be awesome to have a whole tank full of them, they remind me of water snakes, So now its time for a dumb question. Will they eat my Malaysian trumpet snails?
