yes! i just did my weekly water change and found that as i was vacuming the gravel 20+ snail popped up! then when i was putting all my decor back in the tank after i finished vacuming the gravel, i found that the adult snail had been in the cave the entire time. so i quickly put it into my tank, and although it had been out of the water for a while, it seems fine now. it isn't moving very much, but it is moving so it seems to me that it is recovering very nicely. i didn't know that baby snails hid under the gravel, but i'm glad that i was able to find them. =]

congrats, before you know it you will have an invert only tank, muwahaha!
Oh, and snails can survive for quite a duration of time out of water so no worries there.

alright. good. i feel much better now. and if the population gets too great for me to handle, won't my mbunas eat them?

i have no idea, I have never kept mbunas. But if they get out of control it tells you that you are overfeeding or slacking on tank maintenance. Also, you can squish them for treats for your fish.

pond snails. also, my adult snail has been in the same spot for several hours now. is it ok? it doesn't look dead, but i'm concerned because it hasn't moved at all.

it didn't move, but it is out of its shell now.

is it possible to move the eggs to my other tank? or is it better to just move some of the already hatched snails?
