am interested in the experiment your doing jinkz, i/we want details!!!just to add jinkz has good stock all coments are great.

but you could come to the uk and get some from me lol

I have just combined all my recessive colors into one tank to see what I get (they were not sexually mature when I put them in there). I am hoping that by them all being wild/recessive colors it will up my probability of getting more like them in the offspring. so far i have 3 clutches from the tank...the only non-wild (solid) color exposed to any of the snails was an ivory. Cross your fingers i get some good colors!

spixis are smaller than pomacea bridgesii, and they lay their eggs under the water line. The giant ones are cana's, they are plant eaters and restricted, but have huge personalities. The bridgesii snails get a little larger than a golfball.

and this is the ones you have? I would live a golf ball sized snail!!! my kids would greak. they love snails :) And the food you feed them, there very lucky snails!!
I was thinking of getting those feeder blocks for mine, will they be ok? I know they add calcium to the tank and have food in them.

yup, the ones I have get golfballish size, the golds seem to get larger than the others. I make my snail jello and add calcium to that for shell growth. The vacation feeders are good to help prevent any shell erosion.

Awsome!!! can not wait until mine arrive :headbang2: Jello? wow thats cool. you add liquid calcium?
I am glad I got the feeders now then, how often would I throw on in the tank? ( I thank goodness there is a snail expert here !! )

I add powdered calcium (for reptiles, I will include a recipe for you with the snails). I do'nt use the vacation feeders very often as I have very hard water, you can also get a cuttlebone (for birds) to add to your filter or tank to help with the hardness to prevent shell erosion.
