I got buzzed.

I put my hand in my betta tank to trim some plants today and got a mild electric shock. I turned off the heater and put on rubber soled slippers
and put my hand back in the tank and its ok.
I noticed the whiteclouds were kind of huddling together and my betta has been racing back and forth at the front bottom of the tank this weekend. Were they trying to tell me something?
The thermometer looks fine. Its 100 watt, cheapie brand. It doesn't look broken anywhere. The wiring looks well insulated. Now I'm wondering if its me or is it broken. Is there a way to tell? Thanks.

I moved my cameroon shrimp to a warmer tank. The killifish, whiteclouds and betta should be fine at room temp. until I get another if this one is in fact broken.

Try it in a tank, with a votage meter.

I wouldn't take any chances at all. If you suspect its faulty, trash it and buy a new one. You don't want to get hurt by it - and neither do your fish!

I just stuck my votage meter in my tank. Got a super low blip. Too small to even read.

Well 'feeling' any static is not normal now is it? I got a good buzz let me tell you.

I dont fell it at all. It maybe from my lighting, messing with the meter. How bad was it? From 1 to 10. What did it fell like? Like a 9v battery?

It doesn't really matter what it felt like right? Electricity should not be conducting itself through your tank water.
