Got some Red Cherry Shrimp in my 10 gallon since yesterday (sourced from a member here-thanks John!). Filled up the tank Thursday, put in the sponge filter thats been sitting in Jacks tank, and also popped in a couple of my Mystery snails to help keep the bioload going.

Shrimp came in yesterday, all doing good, one is turning red already with a saddle (eggs?). Just took a look and noticed the snails were up at the very top of the tank. Opened the lid and theres a clutch of eggs on the lid and another on the side of the glass above the water level.

OK, thats the background...

Question: WIll the snails (assuming they hatch) and the shrimps co-exist? Should I remove the clutch and raise them seperate (think I saw something here about floating them on some mesh etc).

Not sure now if I want to be a Snail-raiser or a shrimper!

Ideas?

Never Mind!

Did some reading today on Petshrimp.com and applesnail.net and it seems to be no problem!

The egg clutch should not be submerged in water. Take care not to raise the water level too high, or the babies in the clutch will drown.

If the clutch is fertile, "they" will hatch within a couple of weeks, maybe three.

Good Luck :)
