lol....i understand the concern, it probablly sounds crazy that i have a pacu in a 20 gal without reading my other post. Ive seen some pacu at my LFS that where huge too. There are in a 300 gal tank. I really want to keep him and watch him get huge. I wish i could keep him in a aquarium forever though,i dont like the pond idea too much. A few years down the road i will build a 500 gallon plywood/epoxy/fiberglass/glass tank and see how he does in that after he outgrows the 150 gal. My LFS said that the red bellied dont get quite as large as the black pacu.The black pacu growing over 3 feet,and the red bellied to about 18 inches. So if he doesnt grow over 18 inches i think a 500 gallon would suffice....but hey im a noobie that dont know ****.
