It's a black convict small(1.5-2.00) and i noticed at times it gets real black the stripes get dark and face gets black. It's stomach has like a goldish/redish shine.I just bought this fish 2 days ago so any help would be great thanks.

I'm not an "expert" with convicts, or any fish for that matter. But many of my fish go thru the different shades as you have described. I think it has to do with the mood of the fish at any given time, whether it's stressed, angry, timid, or even if it's sleeping; sometimes I turn on the lights late at night and most of my fish have a pale tone to them. Of course a change in color could also mean a fish is sick, but if the color changes frequently, I wouldn't be too concerned, just keep a eye on him.

The description of the stomach sounds like a female to me. Is there any other convicts with her? What other fish are in the tank?

The color on the belly would indicate a female. My female cons always get more intense color when they are ready to breed. They also get pale when they are stressed. You said that you got her 2 days ago, and she was probably more pale in color when you first introduce her to the tank. She is getting comfortable now and her colors will really perk up. The female cons can be very beautiful. Here is a pic of one of mine...
