Here are my Indian Mudskippers (Periophthalmus novemradiatus) in their new home. I've always thought these were very cool so after selling some fish and making some space, I went for it! They are so great at getting their pictures taken! :D

Oh yeah, and I swear they have some sort of sign language. I have a little video that caught just the last part of them flipping their fins at each other. Has anyone else noticed their skippers making a motion with their fins from their mouth back to their sides? It kinda looks like they're blowing kisses. Funny to watch. It's like a little code! Here's the clip:

And one more clip of them at feeding time:

o.o....... all of these threads are really making me want some of these guys..how are there temperaments?

So far GREAT! I have only had them about a week, but they appear to have made themselves right at home. They do flare their fins at each other, and sometimes chase someone off of "their spot" if another gets too close, but I've seen no biting or bullying at all, just the normal behavior. In the research I did, I read that the indian mudskippers are to have a much better temperament than the african ones. They also stay much smaller, so that's what I chose to go with. I definitely love them already.

...if only i had space for another tank, someday maybe!!!

yours are so cute keep us updated ^_^

Cutie Patooties!

Nowhere near me carries them, so rather than have somewhere order them in for me, I just bought them online and had them shipped to me directly. I went through Live Fish Direct. It wasn't cheap, but they had them overnighted very quickly with heat packs and had great customer service when I called and emailed. Plus I have a 14 day guarantee, which I'm not worried about, because after a week they're still going strong.
Were you able to find anywhere to get them locally? When you're able to get them, you're going to have so much fun watching them!
