I have seen the future and it is

I think it's wrong... and cruel to the animals. But then I never was one for animal testing.

I think that humans as a species is just going to get weaker because of all the things they do. They keep curing things that can be passed on or have a genetic succeptibility so all this stuff just keeps intensifying through the generations. *sigh*

Not that I'm saying we should start just letting people die either... it's quite the predicament we've put ourselves in.

I don't think we've grown weaker as a species at all. I think we have adapted in such a way that we can support weaker indiviuals in away that affords them a fulfilling life- that doesn't necessarily impact what goes into the gene pool. I'm no fan of animal testing either, but in studies like this there can be some benefit to veterinary medicine as well down the line, so it evens out in a way I guess.

All I know is, if I were hit by a stray bullet from some thug, I wouldn't consider that a "natural death". Freeze my a** and bring me back to life!

I think the picture is way over-done and very sensationalized. It takes away from this important worthwhile research. Of course every care should be taken to treat the animals as humanely as possible. I think many lives can be saved with this medicle break through tho' Esp accident victims and GSW's.....

I agree- although I do have an issue with cryogenics, to me that's just egomania- but this is different.

I think, with cryogenics, that one's point of view would depend on whether they believe there's life after death or not. It would be pretty hard to accept death as the only option if cryogenics were available and affordable. So I don't see it as egomania, but to keep life going as long as possible. Imagine what you could achieve if you could live a much longer life and maintain good health.

Personally, If I had the option of living longer with a fairly young, healthy body and mind, then I would jump at the chance. However, if I just continued to get older and more frail, then a longer life isn't quite so appealing.

I don't see anything wrong with it! I do not see it as playing Jesus at all. If someone is murdered (or someone attempts to murder them) and they can survive, through this procedure, to testify at the murderer's trial, and the thug gets executed for it, THAT is playing Jesus... BUT I LIKE IT! ;)

I don't know. I think cryogenics is pretty gross, but this is different. This is a medical procedure to save someone's life immediately after a traumatic injury.

I'm all for it!

Hmmm, I like this. Used in an ethical manner this could really save lives.
