I HAVE WIGGLERS!!!!!!!

Awesome. Free cories is like mana from heaven.

Hmm. One of these days I'll get a bigger tank and 20 peppereds and see if they spawn for me again. :)

i am trying to come to terms with the idea that i may have to sell some of these little guys when they get bigger

im going to see how many survive before i jump the gun. im pondering getting a 40 gallon breeder to grow them out after they make it past 4 weeks. i dont want to sell them before 12 weeks or 1" long, whichever happens first. im trying to consider this conservatively and not expect all of the fry to survive (though we can always hope)

my bronze cories spawned a while ago, i only had 3, turns out its 1 male and 2 females, and after around 50 eggs hatched, i now have 4 inch long bronze babies in with mums and dad in my 30 gallon, so around a 10% survival rate, but i did nothing special, i just removed the eggs and left them in a smaller barebottom tank. it was great to see them grow up, but now i cant really save any more as my tank would be over stocked, its heartbreaking when you can see them wriggling away in their eggs on the side of the tank, knowing that they are doomed the be fish food for the neons as soon as they hatch out. i am so tempted every time they spawn to swipe out all the eggs and grow them again, but i wouldnt want to part with any so its a bad idea. good luck with your babies.

A 40g breeder to "grow" them out? Sneaky ;)

Psh, send em to me!! :D

i actually want to try to raise as many as i can. i know these are not rare or expensive cories, but they are fun, HARDY and easy to breed. i saw an updated list of a lot of fish that are being banned from being imported into the US because the native populations are being depleted in the wild. im not a big green person or anything, but i really like the idea of using creating captive bred populations for commercial purposes rather than grabbing out of the wild. a lot of people complain about the fact that captive bred populations seem rather drab. i think its a challenge for breeders to attempt to raise beautiful populations of fish

as of this morning, all 52 fry have hatched. i checked the new eggs looks like 10-15 of them are going to be viable as well.

*shrugs*
