I have wigglers!

Update (pic heavy)

So it's been 5 days since they hatched. So far I have lost 5. I'm now down to 15. I still expect to lose a couple more since some of them aren't developing as well as they should be and a couple have bent tails (as you'll see in the pics).
Overall though, they are doing good. Most of them have almost completely eaten up their egg sacks (with a few exceptions), so I think I will try to give them some zucchini tomorrow and see how it goes.
I had to clean out their holding tank tonight, so it was a perfect time for new pics :)

I wouldn't be in a rush to offer them food. I've seen the fry stay in the cave with the male for several days, sometimes even a week or more, after they absorb the yolk sac. The male doesn't leave, and they don't get any food that I can tell, but they certainly don't starve to death in the meantime.

I know they probably won't eat the food (or even recognize it AS food) for awhile, but I feel that there's nothing wrong with having it in there for when they are ready to eat it. It does no harm & water changes are done daily right now so the water won't be fouled up from the veggies.

Looking good!

Thanks Rbishop.
Unfortunately, I lost 5 more this morning due to a heater malfunction. Thankfully the strongest ones pulled through it, and I still have 10 left. I did a water change, added an air stone and have been slowly getting the temp back to normal all morning. So far, so good. Hopefully I don't lose anymore.

First one that has found the cucumber. Other 9 still don't seem interested but I'm sure they will eventually..

Looking good, though if they'd stayed with daddy they'd likely still be hanging out in the cave with him. My latest brood are about the same size/age, and still aren't out of the cave yet.

Well unfortunately, he doesn't know well enough yet to not kick the eggs out of the cave. So leaving them in there with him wasn't possible. But when he finally gets it right, I won't be moving them.
