My fish have the greatest personalities. They are happy to see me when I get home and practically dance in the tank. They are regular "feeder" goldfish. I have five adults, which are about 5 years old, one baby, which is about 2 years old, and 2 yearlings (one year old). The five adults are quite large; my female is the largest. One of the yearlings I added recently. I have to get used to his personality still. He watches me... a lot. He is a very strange fish. The others follow me around when I walk by the tank but he watches me very carefully. He is the first one to swim over to me and he stays, watching, seemingly mezmerized by me. Creepy. I still like him though.

As much as I enjoyed raising goldfish, I don't think I'll save the eggs anymore. It was a cute, one time experiment.

I would like to train them to do tricks. I can't figure out how though. They just stare, talk and swim. They are quite loyal though. They only follow me. Anyone else can walk by and they will only get ignored by my fish. I was always told that fish can't remember things and are dumb. My fish will prove those people wrong. I bet yours could too.

Me too! lol

I'm considering some other types of fish. I've been reading a lot of posts from people who own and love betas and cories. Any thoughts? My feeders are sturdy which is good because I've made many mistakes and they can handle them quite well. Should I just stick with them? Are the other fish too delicate?

I have to confirm corys have some interesting personalities. Of course they've never tried to stare me down like my german rams have.

I would say that adding fish to your current aquarium of goldfish would probably not be the best of ideas. Now if you had room for another tank a tropical community tank should be any more difficult to keep than a goldfish tank.

thats why i could never ever feed live fish to my fish. feeder goldfish have personalities too!
